THE GRACEFULLY BEAUTIFUL JOURNEY OF HANDWOVEN RUG MAKING
At the beginning, the yarns are placed into a large container and dipped into dye at intervals to ensure the color spreads evenly. They are then left for a long time in hot dyeing water. Once the desired shade is reached, the yarns are washed and dried under the sun.
The weaving process of a rug can take months, depending on its size, design, and pattern. For the best results, cotton, silk, and wool yarns are preferred.
When weaving is complete, the carpet is removed from the loom and excess threads are trimmed with scissors. Its color, pile quality, and pattern integrity are carefully checked. Skilled artisans correct gaps between motifs and align the pile to give the rug a flawless appearance.
In the final stage, the rug is washed by immersing it in water to remove dirt and excess dye. This process is repeated several times until the rug is completely clean. Afterwards, it is dried under the sun to balance the colors. Special washing techniques can also enhance the brightness of its tones.
